Bank of Scotland Imaginate Festival
Imaginate Festival
The biggest children's theatre festival of its kind in the UK continues to receive huge support from Bank of Scotland.
The award winning Imaginate Festival (formerly know as the Children's International Theatre Festival) has been able to continue its development of quality children's theatre thanks to the partnership. The Festival offers a unique programme of live theatre events for children of all ages from babies and toddlers - young people aged up to 16, their friends, families and teachers.
The Bank of Scotland Imaginate Festival in Edinburgh provides more than 14,000 youngsters with the opportunity to see world-class productions of drama, music and dance. The Bank's support continues to enable Imaginate, an arts agency committed to promoting and developing performing arts for children in Scotland, to extend the Festival by taking a number of their productions on tour. The Tour gives even more Scottish communities the opportunity to experience the best in children's theatre.
Bank of Scotland's support has continued to grow since the festival's inception in 1990 - from sponsoring single theatre companies to major supporter status.Increasing access to the arts, creating educational opportunities and experiences for young people are key to the partnership with Imaginate. The Bank's sponsorship programme and its support for the extended tour means that more young people will be able to experience children's theatre.
The 2009 Bank of Scotland Imaginate Festival will take place from 26th May - 1st June. Tour dates are still to be confirmed. To find out more about Imaginate.
