Europe and North America
Europe and North America Division consists of Insurance and Investment, Retail and Corporate businesses covering the major Euro-zone economies and our Corporate business in North America. The division comprises 1700 FTEs based in over 30 locations.
European Financial Services provides Insurance and Investment products through Clerical Medical Europe and Heidelberger Leben utilising a variety of distribution channels.
The Retail business in Europe comprises
- Banco Halifax Hispania which offers a range of Retail products to the UK ex-pat community and to the local market and
- BoS NL which focussed on broker supported internet based mortgages.
The target market for the Corporate businesses are the specialised niches where we have proven expertise. In Europe these niches include Real Estate, Infrastructure, Energy and Utilities, Asset Finance and Corporate Finance including Telecoms and Media. In North America our focus is on Structured Finance, Real Estate, Oil & Gas, Gaming, Retirement Care Homes and Consumer Finance.
The objectives of the Division for 2006 are to
- Increase penetration in chosen niche markets.
- Achieve controlled growth in returns and asset base.
- Increase earnings diversity.
- Maintain market leading credit, financial and risk management practices.
- Create long term sustainable share holder added value.
